Memories of Brock

Amy Saparto, Mom

“To me, Brock will always be my baby boy. He lived his life on his terms and was a giver. Never afraid to burn a bridge if he felt the situation no longer served him. Brock led the fun on all of our vacations- mixing up drinks or simply finding the fun in the ordinary. He protected his family and friends fiercely with no regrets.  He loved his dogs and developed a great love for the outdoors.  Every minute spent with Brock was an honor.

We loved camping out at the ball field and watching baseball.  We followed him throughout his career from Oregon, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, West Virginia, and Minnesota. Baseball was our favorite sport to watch him play. I have many memories but one of my favorite memories was when his sister was literally ran over by a bike messenger in San Francisco. Brock didn’t miss a beat and ran as fast as he could after the biker, all 6’ 3 of him barreling down a busy street yelling at the guy. He didn’t catch him, which was probably a good thing because Brock would have put some hurt on the guy.

I miss 'hey mama'… I miss his voice, I miss his hugs, and I miss his presence in our family. Brock was living and learning and just starting out in life. He bought 80 acres in Wyoming and was loving his job as a journeyman millwright. His goal was to save a million dollars by the time he was 30 and retire on a cattle ranch outside of Fort Worth and raise a family. I will miss the prospect of watching him continue to grow into an amazing man. Love you forever, sweet boy."
